We collect the following data when you use Splitr:
- Name – collected via Google Sign-In to identify you within your clubs.
- Email address – collected via Google Sign-In for account authentication.
- Profile photo – optionally uploaded by you; used to display your avatar to club members.
- Financial information – expense amounts, balances, and payment records you create within the app.
- User-generated content – expense titles, notes, club names, and event descriptions.
- Device token – collected to deliver push notifications about club activity.
- User ID – an internal account identifier used to link your data within the app.
3. How We Use Your Data
All data collected is used solely to provide and improve the core functionality of Splitr:
- Authenticating your account and keeping it secure.
- Displaying your name and photo to your club members within the app.
- Calculating, displaying, and tracking shared expenses and balances.
- Sending push notifications for expense updates, approvals, and settlements.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except as necessary to operate the service:
- Google Sign-In – authentication is handled by Google. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Push notifications – device tokens are processed via Expo's notification service solely to deliver in-app notifications.
- Hosting – your data is stored on secure servers (Railway) and is not shared with any other third parties.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and secure storage on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Splitr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
