How to split a team expense
Confirm the full amount and decide whether the whole club, a particular event or only selected members benefited. Apply any agreed club contribution before dividing the remainder.
For attendance-based costs such as pitch hire or post-match food, include only the people who took part. For equipment that benefits the whole season, a club-wide split may be fairer.
- Use the final cost, including booking or delivery fees
- Record who paid the original bill
- Agree the people included before calculating
- Round only the final individual share
What if the bill does not divide evenly?
Small rounding differences are normal. Keep two decimal places for each share and assign any remaining penny to the organiser or original payer. The important part is that the recorded shares add back to the amount members need to fund.
This calculator provides an estimate. Splitr can record the real expense, payer and exact members involved so the resulting balances stay visible to the team.
